Sunyoung Kim BCSLA, CSLA, MLA, BLA, BA 


Sunyoung is a registered landscape architect and the owner of Dotori Studio, a sole proprietorship in BC, Canada.


She has accumulated over 15 years of professional experience in both the private and public sectors of Canada and South Korea, as well as achieved a master’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of British Columbia and two bachelor’s degrees in landscape architecture and English language and literature (double degree program) from South Korea. 

Participating in numerous public and private space projects in diverse professional settings — including a design firm in Vancouver, a municipality in the Lower Mainland, and a governmental corporation in South Korea — has equipped her with unique and solid qualifications across various aspects of landscape architecture. Throughout her career, Sunyoung has distinguished herself as a competent professional, adept in project management, design innovation, attention to detail, and client satisfaction.

Passionate about the transformative power of outdoor spaces, Sunyoung believes that every landscape, regardless of scale, holds the potential to inspire joy and enrich lives when thoughtfully conceived and executed. She is committed to delivering site-specific, purpose-driven and environmentally-conscious landscapes tailored to the client’s needs.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Sunyoung finds joy spending time with her family and indulging her creative spirit through gardening, painting and crafting.
